just saw this site on cnn. glad to see something real for once on the news, other than bs propaganda from the right wing telling us that iran is a threat and people are building nukes. truth is, we are the ones building the most when we agreed to build less. it is sad what we are doing to arabs around the world. and people need to stop putting responsibility on bush because we are all responsible for what is going on to a certain degree.

Chong,
You’re very conscientious. You’re right, we can’t claim to want to modernize Arab countries and at the same time harbor a popular culture animus toward the populations of those countries. Dialogue, exchange programs, targeted assistance with things like infrastructure, medicine, educational assistance etc. would be far cheaper and far more beneficial to gaining allies in the Arab world. Not to mention that it’s the right thing to do. And while we’re at it, we could be spending a fraction of $100 billion around the world helping all developing nations and garner the status of beloved country (to our benefit) rather than one of the most despised.
Meanwhile, this seems to be our priority in Iraq:

I am glad to be able to hear from real people and have it not filtered by the media. It is the honesty and the frankness that is what makes these guys compelling. Keep on going and Adel I hope one day soon to hear the music you make out of everything you have been through.
